Guided Aboriginal Rainforest Walks:

  • Life for rainforest Aborigines was unique.  

  • Ngadjonji elder, Ernie Raymont grew up in the rainforests of Tropical North Queensland. 

  • He will share with you from his storehouse of local knowledge how the forests provided for food, shelter, weapons and homewares.

  • On this fascinating walk you will discover Brush Turkey nests, turtles, and many bird species.

  • You could even spy on rainforest kangaroos, platypus, rare tree climbing kangaroos, pythons, water goannas and forest 'dragons'. 

  • Learn how to spot stinging trees and their antidote.  

  • The Aborigines nomadic lifestyle was in harmony with the trees fruiting seasons.

  • You will discover what can be eaten and when, where to search for tasty witchetty grubs and how to find water in the most surprising places.  

  • After this you'll never view a rainforest 'bushwalk' the same...See you there!
