Swimming
Swimming is a favourite summer activity here on the Tablelands,
with
many excellent swimming locations.
There are opportunities to swim in
crystal clear extinct volcanic crater lakes, mountain streams and under
magnificent waterfalls.
Volcanic Crater Lakes

Lake
Eacham
is within easy walking distance of
Chambers Wildlife Rainforest Lodges

This lake offers the best swimming experience and facilities of
all of the locations.

The lake itself
is 60metres deep of crystal clear fresh water with rainforest down to the edge.

Freshwater fish and turtles
live in the lake and you are likely to see Boyd’s Forest Dragon (lizard)
as you walk around the lake’s edge.

Facilities include a
weekend Food Van, a ramp for supervised children swimming, barbeque, picnic
area and public toilets.

Barrine
is a 10minute drive from
Chambers Wildlife Rainforest Lodges

lake is also a crystal clear extinct volcanic crater lake.

The
lake’s depth is also approximately sixty (60) metres.

lakes facilities include Restaurant, shallow entrance for children swimming, picnic
area,
barbeque facilities and public toilets.
Waterfalls

Falls
is a 10minute drive from

Located on the right hand side of the road as you pass out of the town
of Malanda.

There is a
shallow end for children to swim in.

is a 25minute drive from

kilometres out of the town of Milla
Milla.

A popular swimming spot with the locals.

Falls is a picturesque waterfall
where you can swim beneath the falls in a
plunge pool.
- There is
a small stream for children to play in,
a sheltered picnic area, barbeque
facilities and public toilets.
